Clive Sharples qualified as a solicitor in 1974 and worked with firms in The City of London for 25 years before co-founding Riseam Sharples in 1997. Clive has now been practicing in the West End of London for over 20 years.
Clive’s original area of expertise was facilitating the purchase of sites for redevelopment and in doing so he acted for most of the major developers in the South of England. In 1987 Clive started to become involved with acting for offshore investor purchasers acquiring off plan residential property in Central London. He ceased acting for developers in 1993 to concentrate more specifically in acting for offshore investors and continued to do so culminating in the setting-up of Riseam Sharples in 1997 as a firm concentrating in this area of business.
2016 will be Clive’s 30th year acting for investors based in the Far East.
Julia read Law at UCL, studied for her Legal Practice Course part-time at the College of Law in London and thereafter worked as a trainee solicitor at Riseam Sharples. Julia joined the firm in 2001, qualified in 2004 and was made a Partner in 2007. In May 2015, Julia returned to our London office having spent three and a half years working for us from Sydney, Australia where she qualified as a solicitor in New South Wales.
Manisha trained with Riseam Sharples having first joined them in Autumn 2002 as a Legal Assistant. She was seconded to Philippsohn Crawfords Berwald to complete her contentious seat and qualified with Riseam Sharples in Autumn 2004.
Tom trained with Riseam Sharples having first joined them in autumn 2003 as a Legal Assistant. He was seconded to Caporn Campbell in 2005 (prior to the firm’s merger with Russell-Cooke in 2006) to complete his contentious seat and qualified with Riseam Sharples in 2006.
Tom became a Partner of the firm on 18th May 2018.
After completing her law degree, Ashleigh worked in the law for 3 years before joining Riseam Sharples as a trainee in 2009. She was seconded to Howard Kennedy in 2010 and returned to Riseam Sharples as a qualified solicitor in January 2011.
Rakhee qualified as a Solicitor in 2010 in a London firm. She has obtained advisory and drafting experience in Commercial and Civil Litigation, Wills and Probate/Estate Administration, Residential Conveyancing and Family Law.
Since her qualification, Rakhee has undertaken a mixed workload of fee earning, legal risk and compliance. She is the firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) and the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) .
Catherine trained with Riseam Sharples, joining the firm in 2007, and qualifying in 2009. She is well-known to a wide range of developers and investors and has a wealth of industry knowledge. Catherine specialises in large-scale commercial and residential development work with an impressive reputation for efficiency, effectiveness and strong client relationships .
Jing is a solicitor with experience in a broad range of areas, including commercial./residential property transactions, immigration, litigation, family and probate. She has served clients across various sectors and backgrounds, including high-net-worth individuals, companies and foreign organisations and is known for her enthusiastic approach and friendly service.
Jing joined Riseam Sharples in June 2015. She speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese .
Hayley trained with Riseam Sharples having first joined them in April 2010 as a Paralegal. She was seconded to PCB Litigation in February 2012 to complete her contentious seat and qualified with Riseam Sharples in June 2012 .
Mike started his legal career at Tunbridge Wells firm Cripps Harries Hall LLP as an office boy from where he progressed via night school and five year articles to qualify as a solicitor becoming a partner in 1982.
He has focused on the house building industry and real estate investment sectors and was a pioneer in the South East Asia and South African property exhibition markets.
Following retirement from Cripps Harries Hall LLP in 2013 he joined Riseam Sharples as a Consultant and now lives in Asia where he can conveniently service Riseam Sharples clients purchasing at property exhibitions in the region .
Hani completed her Law Degree in 2009 and started work experience at Riseam Sharples in January 2010 and later joined the firm in May of the same year as a Trainee Licensed Conveyancer. Hani qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in April 2013 and speaks Malay.
From September 2016, Hani has relocated and is now based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will mostly cover property launches in the Far East .
Aris has completed his studies in Political Science and Public Administration in the University of Athens. He has worked as an Intern for Clifford Chance LLP Europe in Paris. Aris joined Riseam Sharples as an office administrator in February 2014 and undertook the Council of Licensed Conveyancers qualification Aris qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in January 2017.
Helen joined Riseam Sharples in 2001 after a break to raise her family. Initially working alongside Colin Riseam, one of the co-founders of Riseam Sharples, following his retirement she now assists Julia Caveller. Previously Helen worked in a conveyancing team at Farrer & Co in London .
Diane joined Riseam Sharples in January 2004 as a legal secretary to Clive Sharples. She started her career in 1998 on joining a law firm in Northern Ireland which dealt with conveyancing, matrimonial and family, probate and litigation matters before moving to London in 2004.
Rosy joined Riseam Sharples in September 2011 as a Paralegal. She has extensive experience with new build properties having worked for Winckworth Sherwood in the Plot Sales Team for 6 years and has had dealings with BDW Trading Limited also known as Barratts, and Bellway Homes Limited.
Ellesse initially worked at Ringley Legal as a legal assistant and joined us in January 2014 in our Post Completions Department helping to oversee all completion matters within the firm. Ellesse now undetakes conveyancing matters in the firm.
Susan Tai Sue Fong joined Riseam Sharples in August 2014 as an assistant and currently works for Manisha Bhati. She qualified in Malaysia as a Lawyer in 2001 and has completed her Masters of Law (LLM) with a focus on International Banking Law.
Susan Speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese, Tamil and Bahasa Malaysia.
Roshni joined Riseam Sharples in May 2016 and has completed a degree in International Business at the University of Greenwich. She also has a Legal Secretarial Diploma and is currently working as a Legal Assistant for Hani Zuhuri .
Leanne joined Riseam Sharples in 2014 and assists Julia Caveller, Catherine Whitehouse and Hayley Marler. She had previously worked at Bankside Property Limited for 7 years before she left to start a family.
Weiwei joined Riseam Sharples in June 2019 as an assistant to the China Team. She had previously worked for over three years as a legal assistant at an immigration legal practice. She has been a qualified English-Chinese translator and interpreter since 2010. She speaks fluent English and Mandarin.
Simon joined Riseam Sharples in March 2013 having completed an Archaeology Degree at the University of Manchester . He is currently studying for a CLT Level 3 Residential Conveyancing BTEC and plans to enrol for his GDL in the new year .
Graham trained as a Legal Cashier with Farrer & Co from 1985 and finally left them in 1998 to join Riseam Sharples and Fok as Accounts Manager. In 1999 he then joined Laserform (now IRIS) where he had various Managerial roles before setting up his own Accounting and Consultancy Company. Riseam Sharples welcomed Graham back as their Senior Accountant in 2007.
Kayley is a part qualified accountant having studied foundation and intermediate levels of AAT. Kayley trained as a legal cashier with Cook Taylor Woodhouse Solicitors in 2008, before joining Riseam Sharples in January 2010 .
Ali joined Riseam Sharples as an Office Administrator in 2006, left and again joined in 2008. Ali started his career as Steno/PA from Higher Education Commission, Islamabad Pakistan in 1985. He served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, Pakistan as Office Administrator from 1986-1999 and then worked as admin assistant in the Pakistan High Commission, London from 2000-2005. Ali is fluent in Urdu and Punjabi .
